Unexpected news when Mitch Lucker,a 28 year old a vocalist for the heavy metal band Suicide Silence who lived in Huntington Beach, who was killed in a motorcycle accident.
The news was confirmed when The band posted a statement on its Facebook page Thursday morning reading, "There's no easy way to say this. Mitch passed away earlier this morning from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. This is completely devastating to all of us and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. He will be forever in our hearts."
Mitch Lucker was riding his black 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle in Huntington Beach, where he lives, when he lost control and collided with a light pole at the intersection of Main and 13th streets, according to a statement from the city’s Police Department.
Mitch was thrown from the bike, but the motorcycle kept moving and hit a Nissan Titan pickup. The truck's occupants were not injured, nor were nearby trick-or-treaters, police said.
Mitch Lucker was seriously injured and was treated on scene by paramedics, where he died Thursday morning after 6 a.m. at UC Irvine Medical Center, according to the Orange County coroner's office. The accident is still under investigation.
Lucker was a devoted family man, often taking his 5-year-old daughter Kenadee out on stage with him at performances.
He is survived by his daughter and his wife, Jolie. His father, Kip Lucker, is a Riverside resident. He also survived by his brothers, Cliff and Kelton, and his mother, Denise.
I will give my deepest sympathy and condolence to the family of Mitch Lucker.
