Yesterday, People anointed Channing Tatum Sexiest Man Alive.And while it’s true that 2012 was really Tatum’s year, with three successful movies at the box office—The Vow, Magic Mike, and 21 Jump Street—Tatum is part of a 26-year long tradition of anointing square-jawed white men as the hottest in the land.
It's a beautiful surprise just as the year closes for actor Channing Tatum. The 32-year-old was hailed "Sexiest Man Alive" by People magazine. The gorgeous actor dethroned Bradley Cooper and beat the likes of Matt Bomer and Ryan Gosling from the prestigious list.
His wife, actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum, was equally perplexed.
"I told Jenna after we'd been in the bathtub washing our dogs because they'd gotten skunked."
"She was like, 'What?'"
"Yeah, she calls me [the Sexiest Man Alive] now," the Alabama-born actor laughs.
Tatum, who bared almost all in Magic Mike this year, is currently in training for a role as an Olympic athlete in Foxcatcher.
